The following is a rant from the schmucks over at Bangkok Badboy blog. He has interesting views on prostitution in Thailand and isn’t afraid to spill what’s on his mind, my kind of guy!

Call them what you will - some love them, whilst others hate them. But everybody seems to have an opinion.

Are trannies really women trapped in a man’s body?

This is a tricky question. Some would say, they are just very very gay. Some would say they are women trapped in men’s bodies. Others would say that they have ‘mental disorders’ like the Thai military used to classify katoeys who were eligible for the mandatory draft.

I would say that they are, indeed, women trapped in men’s bodies. If they think like a woman, act like a women, look like a woman and even want to have a pussy like a woman, then they’re closer to being a woman than a man.

Transsexuals who you see every day on tranny porn blogs and such, showing off their big, fat cocks is a money making tool for most of them. (No pun intended)

Case in point, the infamous ladyboy Mint (of LB-69).. She has one of the top 2 biggest Asian ladyboy penises I’ve ever seen, both on the web and in real life. And if your organization/gathering is based on your own particular self-definition, one you’ve arrived at despite being the member of a group targeted for serious oppression for millenia, then your decision has a right to stand on its own. It’s about self-definition and empowerment for groups who are not running the show.

Some of us NEED space where our own self-definition (as members of a group targeted for hostility and projection of others definition of us) is dominant. The fact that this is perceived as a threat, as “painful”, as not “nurturing” enough simply REEKS of how women are supposed to sacrifice self for the needs of others.

We’re not in the way of your liberation or self-definition. We just want some room to create our own spaces sometimes. We really don’t believe you’re exactly the same as us, and honestly, neither do you — you make a giant production of how special you are. You play the victim card every chance you get. Some of you claim you are MORE oppressed than other women.

But we DO get to make up our own minds, and our own definitions of who we are. I categorically reject the accusation that this action by a target group is “hurtful”.
